My Year in Review 2025

My Year 2025 in Review

Wow! Traveling is sure different now that we have a little guy in tow. It is so vastly different than having a carry on and traveling around the world to endless things to bring, choosing direct flights, and picking child friendly places. Thomas might have wanted to kill me with my desire to fly everywhere since flying with a lap child is free! He did so much he demanded I do a girls trip in January without him. But we had to get some more free lap child action. We had that for the first half of the year and crammed it in. The second half of the year was girls trips and family trips and ending out the year at home for the holidays!

2025 Year of Travel- First Stop Jamaica

Thomas said I should go on a girls trip at the beginning of the year and he was willing to stay home with Calvin. He said that until I was leaving him with Calvin and they had the flu. I am not sure how but my leaving gave me a pass on the flu and I had a blast in Jamaica with my friend. We spent a week and it was a perfect winter getaway.

Next stop 2025- Connecticut

March is not the best time to visit Connecticut – but you have to go when your grandmother turns 100!!! So blessed with longevity on both sides so hopefully you will see me traveling forever. March ended up being a bit of a tough month as we had an unexpected visit to the ER and admission to the hospital with Calvin. Luckily kids are so resilient and we were back to the playground in no time. Ready for the next adventure.

2025 Trip to Kauai HAwaii

In April, we made our longest flight with Calvin yet! To Hawaii!!! After that Thomas said no more until he is older. Thomas unfortunately got vomited on the first leg of the flight without a change of clothes in his carry on. Yikes! Hawaii was great! Highlights for me (not airsick Thomas) included a scenic flight. Also the snorkeling, beaches and Waimea Canyon were incredible!

2025- Scotland International Trip

In June, we headed to Scotland with the in-laws in tow for a 10 day vacation around Edinburgh, Isle of Skye, Inverness and the Highlands. Learned a lot on this trip about planning and traveling. Definitely so much to see so didn’t have as much downtime as expected. Was a very easy place to travel with a child. We enjoyed the freedom of the our own car.

2025 - Connecticut round 2

We did another road trip to Connecticut this time for my siblings birthday. While there we got to see family and enjoy the beach! Calvin also had his first visit to a zoo- the Beardsley Zoo! He loved it!

2025 Canada

I wanted to fly somewhere one more time before Calvin turned two. Sucker for those free lap child tickets. I told Thomas I would let him pick and he wanted to go back to Canmore and Banff in Canada! We had gotten married there six years ago and I was all about it! We loved going back to some of our favorite places and some new places from when we had our destination wedding there! This was Calvin’s last lap child flight!

2025 Greece, Albania and North Macedonia

Next, I went on a trip with three of my best travel friends to Europe. We picked this area because none of us had been to these areas and specifically a new country would mark my 75th country. We flew into Corfu and crossed into Albania via ferry! Albania was such a great place to visit and was my 75th country so will always be special. We also did a day trip to Ohrid, North Macedonia which was incredible!

2025 San diego, California

In November, we made a trip to San Diego, California to visit our family. We had a both sides Thanksgiving extravaganza. It was so great exploring around this city and spending time with family.

Last trip of 2025- Kansas City and Topeka

In December, we made a trip to Kansas City. It was a great time visiting this awesome city. During our stay, we rented a car for a day and crossed into Kansas to Topeka to visit the State Capitol and explore that city. There was so much to do and it was a great time with the holidays to visit this city.

Ending out the year!

We spent the rest of the year at home. Since I had off Thanksgiving I was scheduled to work Christmas and New Years but we managed to enjoy the holidays and rest of the year.

We are learning more about traveling with a child.  He honestly gets so excited about going to the airport! He is definitely my child!! As you know, I can’t end one trip without having more planned and we already have several trips on the book for 2026! Can’t wait for all 2026 has in store!
