Visiting Africa offers a unique and rich cultural experience, with diverse landscapes, wildlife, vibrant cities, and friendly people. My experience
Africa offers so much and there are so many places I still have yet to explore. Below is a list of my top ten favorite places I have visited thus far. If you are planning a trip to Africa, I would highly recommend any of these places!
Top ten list
Victoria Falls- Zambia and Zimbabwe
Victoria Fall is located on the Zambezi River straddling Zambia and Zimbabwe. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world’s largest waterfalls. It is a breathtaking natural wonder. Here you can enjoy adventure activities such as bungee jumping, white water rafting, or dare to take a swim in Devil’s Pool.
Zanzibar- Tanzania
Zanzibar is a tropical island off the coast of Tanzania. It is known for its history, culture and stunning beaches. While here you can take a spice tour, enjoy local seafood and take in the most crystal blue waters you’ll ever see!
Deadvlei-Namibia
Deadvlei is located in the Namib-Naukluft National Park. It is unworldly with its dead acacia trees, cracked clay pans and towering sand dunes. It is a photographer’s paradise and simply unforgettable!
Chefchaouen-Morocco
Chefchaouen is a favorite destination in Morocco. It is known for its vibrant blue-painted buildings. You will love strolling through its winding alleys and streets and taking in the local cuisine and shops.
Abu Simbel-Egypt
Abu Simbel is an archeological site composed of two massive rock temples carved into a mountainside. This breathtaking site is south of Luxor via a day trip. It is a must visit for any traveler to Egypt.
Okavango Delta-Botswana
The Okavango Delta is one of the world’s largest inland water deltas and is the home to some incredible wildlife. It is best explored via boat to fully immerse yourself. You can also splurge for a scenic flight over the delta!
Cape Town- South Africa
Cape Town is one of the highlights of South Africa. It has the iconic Table Mountain and you can take some short day trips to Stellenbosch wine country, Cape of Good Hope, Boulder’s Beach, or if adventurous consider a trip to do some shark cage diving.
Ssese Island- Uganda
The Ssese Islands are located in Lake Victoria. It is like a tropical getaway. Visitors can enjoy nature walks, sandy beaches and tranquility.
Hurghada – Egypt
Hurghada is a gem amongst all the temples and history of the this incredible country. Located on the Red Sea, this resort town, is filled with incredible nightlife, restaurants and watersports. Snorkeling and diving amongst the coral reefs and sea life is unworldly.
Etosha National Park- Namibia
Etosha National Park is located in Namibia. It is famous for its abundance of wildlife and its large salt pan. It has excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography.
Africa musts
Africa is one of the most incredible continents on the planet. The nature, the wildlife, the history and the culture are fascinating. There are so many other places I want to visit. Where have you been that I should add to my list?
