West Virginia is located in the mid eastern area and known for its rugged nature and outdoor activities. It is the tenth smallest state and the twelfth least populated state making it one of the best places for star gazing in the area. The capital and most populous city is Charleston. This state has a lot of historic sites to discover as well. Some of the best tourist destinations include Harpers Ferry, New River Gorge National Park, Blackwater Falls State Park, Snowshoe, Seneca Rocks and Charleston.
